1. General information
This policy explains the data use and third-party services of the Wordello mobile word game published by Sova Game Studio.
Wordello has no user accounts, no login and no passwords. Your game progress — the level you have reached, your coins and hints, your daily-puzzle streak and your settings — is stored in local storage on your own device.
A few optional features need a small amount of data on a server. For these, the app creates an anonymous identifier through Firebase Authentication: a random ID that is not linked to your name, email address, phone number or Google account. It is created only when you first use one of these features:
- Support Center. When you send us a message from Settings › Support Center, we store the topic, subject and text you write, together with your game language, current level, platform and app version, so that we can answer you and you can read our reply inside the game.
- Weekly Race. If you have reached the level where events unlock and you finish a level during the week, you join a race with up to four other real players. We store your race nickname (an animal picture and a number generated by the game — you never type a name), the two-letter country code of your device (shown as a flag), and the number of levels you finished that week.
- Reply notifications. If you allow notifications after sending a support message, we store your device's push notification token and game language so that we can notify you when we reply.
2. Services used
- Google AdMob: used to show ads, measure ad performance, and manage ad preferences. AdMob may also serve ads through Unity Ads as a mediation partner.
- Cocos Creator: the game engine that runs Wordello. The engine itself does not collect data about you.
- Apple App Store (StoreKit) and Google Play Billing: used to process in-app purchases on the matching platform.
- Firebase Analytics and Firebase Installations: used for usage analytics and anonymous app-instance identification.
- Firebase Crashlytics: used for crash and stability reports so we can fix problems in the game. Crash reports include device model, operating system version and the technical state of the app at the moment of the crash.
- Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in), Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions: used to store and process the Support Center messages and Weekly Race entries described in section 1. This data is stored in Google Cloud data centres in the European Union.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: used to deliver a notification when we reply to your support message.
- Firebase App Check and the Google Play Integrity API: used to verify that requests to our servers come from the genuine Wordello app, so that race results and support messages cannot be faked. They check the app and device, not you.
- Google Play In-App Updates: used to offer a newer version of the game from inside the app.
- Email delivery (Gmail SMTP, through the Firebase “Trigger Email” extension): used only to forward new support messages to our own support inbox.
These are the only third parties with whom Wordello shares user data. Each of them acts as a data processor for Sova Game Studio under its own published data protection terms, and each is contractually required to provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this privacy policy. We do not sell user data, and we do not share user data with any party other than the processors listed above. The same commitment applies to any parent, subsidiary or other related entity of Sova Game Studio that may have access to this data.
3. Data types
Wordello may process technical data such as ad interactions, app usage statistics, device information, crash and performance diagnostics, and in-app purchase status. Purchase payments are processed by the App Store or Google Play depending on your device; Sova Game Studio does not store payment card information.
If you use the optional features in section 1, Wordello also processes the messages you send to Support Center, an anonymous identifier, your Weekly Race nickname, your device's country code and weekly level count, and a push notification token. Weekly Race nicknames, flags and level counts are visible to the other players in your race group; your messages and identifiers are never shown to other players.
Wordello does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location. The country code comes from your SIM card or device region settings and identifies only the country. Word validation runs entirely on your device using the language models shipped inside the app, so the words you play are never sent to a server.
4. Ad preferences and notifications
On iOS, when you first open Wordello the app asks for your permission to track using Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, your advertising identifier is not used to personalize ads, and the game remains fully playable. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
On Android, you can manage personalized ad preferences from your device settings or your Google ad settings.
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Wordello shows Google's consent form before ads are loaded. You can reopen that form and change your choice at any time from the gear icon inside the game, under Ad Preferences.
Reminders. Wordello can send you local reminders, such as the daily puzzle waiting for you. They are created and scheduled on your own device, they contain no personal data, and nothing about them is sent to us. The only notification sent from our server is the reply notification for a support message you sent, described in section 1. The game asks for notification permission only after you have played a few levels, it never requires it, and you can turn reminders off at any time in your device settings.
5. Children's privacy
Wordello does not knowingly aim to collect personal information from children under 13. Parents may contact us for support requests.
6. Data retention and deletion
Wordello has no user accounts. Data is retained as follows:
- On your device. Game progress and settings stay on the device until you delete them. Deleting the app removes them permanently. This data never reaches us.
- Support messages. Kept for up to 12 months after our last reply so that you can read the conversation in the game, then deleted. Email copies forwarded to our support inbox are deleted once they are no longer needed to help you.
- Weekly Race entries. Each entry belongs to one week and is deleted within 8 weeks after that week ends.
- Anonymous identifier and notification token. Kept while you use the features above. A notification token stops working automatically when you uninstall the app.
- Analytics and crash diagnostics. These are held by Google (Firebase) on our behalf and are deleted automatically at the end of the retention period configured for our Firebase project. Crash reports are kept only as long as they are useful for fixing the reported problem.
- Advertising data. Ad interaction data is held by Google AdMob under Google's own retention schedule. If you decline tracking, no advertising identifier is associated with this data.
- Purchases. Purchase records are held by Apple or Google as the seller of record. We receive only the fact that a purchase was completed, which is what allows Restore Purchases to work.
You can ask us to delete the diagnostic and analytics data associated with your device at any time. See section 7 for how.
7. Your rights and how to exercise them
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data described above, and you may withdraw a consent you have previously given.
To withdraw consent. On iOS, turn tracking off for Wordello in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; you can also reopen the ad consent form at any time from inside the game under the gear icon › Ad Preferences. On Android, use Ad Preferences in the same place, or your device's Google ad settings. Withdrawing consent stops personalized advertising and does not limit any part of the game.
To request access or deletion. Email support@sovagamestudio.com with the subject line “Wordello data request”. Please tell us which platform you play on (iOS or Android) and your device model, so that we can locate the correct diagnostic records. To delete your Support Center messages or Weekly Race data, you can also simply write to us from Settings › Support Center inside the game; that message lets us find your anonymous identifier without asking for any personal detail. We will confirm receipt and complete the request within 30 days. There is no charge for this, and we will not ask you to create an account in order to make the request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will also be reflected in the consent screen shown inside the game.
